We have already met the gorgeous winners, it’s time to discuss the three evening gowns that have made their mark during Binibining Pilipinas 2017.
For all pageant newbies, Binibining Pilipinas or in direct English translation, Miss Philippines; is the biggest and most followed national pageant in the Philippines. And that makes a lot of pageant noise, considering that the Philippines is home to the best pageant fans in the world.
Binibining Pilipinas holds the franchise of three of the Big 5 pageants, namely — Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Supranational. In addition, the pageant also crowns Philippine delegates to Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental and Miss Globe pageants.
Now, back to our business, we have trimmed the 25 gowns that have graced the Binibining Pilipinas stage into our top three favorites.
1. Ivory Column Gown of Elizabeth Clenci, Binibini 39 and crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2017
This one shoulder column gown just shouts eleganza. It is superbly chic and fabulous. It stands out from the rest of the gowns for being the most haute couture. As a matter of fact, Elizabeth didn’t look an inch of a pageant girl competing for Binibining Pilipinas 2017. She looked every inch of a glamorous Hollywood diva attending a red carpet affair.
Also, the gown is easily differentiated from all the sequins and applique gowns that have become staple in beauty pageants. The length of the gown is perfect and the fit is impeccable.
2. Raspberry Red Pleated Gown of Mariel de Leon, Binibini 15 and declared Miss International Philippines 2017
An extraordinary gown for a gorgeous lady. Maria Angelica de Leon wore this raspberry red gown with pleated details. She looked divine in the gown, especially that the silhouette and fit of the gown was perfect. This gown is also one of the few in Binibining Pilipinas 2017 pageant where there were no so much sequins or that there is some element of nude applique.
The gown also complemented Mariel’s beauty, not too overpowering and not too tacky simple to be easily forgotten. The color, silhouette and details made it a combo of fabulous-ness.
3. Sequinned and Caped Gown of Charmaine Elima, Binibini 32 and was adjudged second runner-up
This silver sequinned gown worn by Charmaine Elima has this certain aristocratic look, highlighted more by its dramatic cape which is perfect in fit and length. The gown is perfect concoction of red carpet glamour and pageant glitters courtesy of the intricately beaded sequins.
Charmaine also killed it during the Evening Gown round, walking like some Asian aristocracy but with a little Latin flavor.
