Olivia Rogers bested 31 other candidates for the prestigious crown of Miss Universe Australia 2017 and will go on to compete at the Miss Universe 2017 finals in a yet to be announced date and venue.
The new Miss Universe Australia 2017 is a qualified speech pathologist and works as a model since the age of 17. She is 25 years old and is also an aspiring writer of children’s book. She represented the state of South Australia and is the first winner from the state in two decades.
Upon her victory, Olivia Rogers exclaimed while clearly trying to contain her emotions “Hope my eyes aren’t too red from all that crying. I’m just in shock,” she said. With her title, she will bear the responsibility of carrying the banner of Australia and continue her country’s placement streak in Miss Universe.
The Miss Universe Australia 2017 finals was held at the Sofitel Melbourne. Georgie Mitchell was declared first runner-up while Tahlia Giumelli and Marijana Radmanovic finished second runner-up and third runner-up, respectively.
