Representing Florida, Clarissa Bowers is crowned Miss World America 2017 or Miss World USA 2017 and is now the delegate of the American nation to the Miss World 2017 pageant to be hosted by Sanya, China, and Singapore.
Clarissa Bowers is the hometown girl as the pageant’s finals took place at the Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando. She bested a bevy of beauties who all vied for the crown and title of Miss World USA 2017, and the right to participate in the biggest international beauty pageant in the planet.
While Miss World America pageant is not popular, paling in comparison to both Miss USA and Miss America, it is still an important competition as it sends its winner to the prestigious Miss World. Clarissa Bowers will now be the American candidate and will try to win the crown which was last brought home by Alexandria Mills in 2010.
Clarissa Bowers is currently a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is studying neuroscience and dreams of becoming a reconstructive surgeon in order to help wounded and scarred soldiers. Her Beauty with a Purpose project is about baseball as a tool to encourage disabled children and adults.

Completing the top 5 winners are Maureen Montagne, former Miss Arizona USA 2015 finishing as first runner-up, Chance Cessna as second runner-up, Emanii Davis a former Miss Georgia USA 2016 and first runner-up to Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber as third runner-up, and Alessandra Curtis as fourth runner-up.
The reigning Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle attended the finals night and assisted the crowning of the new queen. As of this writing, the United States of America has already won the Miss World crown three times.
